Program outline

This program aims to produce graduates capable of designing, documenting and administering residential and all classes of commercial buildings.

Prospective students are encouraged to talk to the Program Coordinator about exemptions from the program based on previous study or professional experience. The Faculty has established sets of exemptions for holders of selected TAFE qualifications.

While a normal part-time load is 12 units of credit for terms 2 and 3, 6 units of credit in term 5, the loading may be varied to balance work and family commitments. Students should note prerequisite requirements and course availability (in this Handbook) when constructing their program in liaison with the Program Coordinator. It is suggested that you study courses in order of level, as shown in the Recommended study schedule.

Degree with Distinction

Students who achieve a GPA of 6.0 and above, in their first attempt result in their enrolled courses over the three years (full-time equivalent) of the program will be awarded a degree with distinction.

Requirements

It is a requirement of enrolment in this program that all students have access to the CQU World Wide Web site via the Internet. Students may be required to undertake various components of study in the program using email and the Internet.

Students should have a mathematical knowledge equal to a passing grade in Queensland Maths B or an interstate equivalent.

Transitional arrangements for continuing students

As the program has been restructured, students still in this program must ensure that they complete courses out of the new program at an appropriate level. Students should liaise closely with their Program Coordinator to ensure correct enrolment.
