Course Description

The course provides further studies regarding the provision of building services including: Energy management systems and strategies for non-residential buildings. Ventilation Strategies - principals of air-conditioning and ventilation systems including an understanding of flow analysis for natural ventilation; plant and ducting requirements for ac installations. Fire Services for buildings classed as Class 2, 3 and 10 under the Building Code of Australia. The course also provides an introduction to: Communications and security systems in non-residential buildings. Storage requirements for fuels such as gas and diesel, Transportation systems including escalators and moving walk-ways, lifts (electric and electro-hydraulic) including safety and regulation issues. Building services maintenance and management strategies and procedures. Students should have completed introductory studies in building services to ensure an adequate level of entry knowledge.
