BLAR12034 Building Legislation 1 (NC)
Course Description
This course develops a working understanding of the Building Code of Australia and associated legislation with a specific focus on Volume 2 of the BCA. It provides and introduction to: statutory controls and assessment, Australian Standards and codes, statutory requirements and professional liability related to the building design, regulation and construction industries, and enforcement proceedings. This course will develop an awareness of how disability, OH&S, environmental and heritage legislation interacts with the BCA and will also provide an introduction to the principles of performance-based legislation.
