Program outline
This is a double degree for students wishing to enter the profession of health and physical education teaching with specialisation in secondary education. (See Terminology for definition of a double degree). It provides students with the opportunity to develop as professional teachers through a comprehensive teaching program and extensive practical experience in schools and the community. This program enables pre-service teachers to prepare themselves to teach a range of secondary education curriculum areas including:
- Health to Year 12;
- Physical Education to Year 12;
- one other teaching area to Year 12.
Curriculum areas are offered depending on availability of curriculum studies in the appropriate discipline area and the availability of pedagogical studies in the Learning Management degree.
Graduates are eligible to apply for teaching positions with employers including Education Queensland, Catholic Education and independent schools.

Application for credit transfer
Credit transfer will only be granted where a student is able to demonstrate that tertiary studies equivalent in content and depth to the CQU program has been succesfullly completed.
