Course Description
This course will draw together the experiences of students in using the new computing and communication technologies in previous courses of the program. The course attends to three levels of development of the new computing and communication technologies and education. First, it attends to classroom practices by reviewing the history of practices associated with the new computing and communication technologies in schools and mapping the influential mindsets that have informed past and current practices. Second, the course examines the growing educational use of IT outside the classroom and the implications this has for classroom use of IT. Third, it locates schools in the emerging knowledge economy and details principles and practices associated with the design, development and implementation of new learning environments.
