Program Overview The Bachelor of Education (Professional) is a degree for professionals and paraprofessionals from disciplines other than formal education and schooling. The program aims to provide an understanding of educational principles for all professionals, including nurses, engineers, accountants and other persons interested in education, particularly those engaged in the teaching and training of adults. This program may also be used by trainers or teachers wishing to work in the vocational education and training sector. Program StructureTo satisfy the requirements of the award, students must complete 8 courses or 48 units of credit as outlined below. Please note that full-time students usually enrol in four courses per term and part-time students usually enrol in two courses per term per term.

Credit TransferApplications for credit for previous studies and/or prior learnings at this level must comply with the relevant requirements detailed within the General Information section of this Handbook. Application forms for credit may be obtained from CQUs Student Administration. Students may elect to take up to 2 courses at the masters level. Students wishing to take this option should discuss their plans with the Course Coordinator and must obtain the permission of the Dean prior to enrolment in those courses. Students who particularly wish to develop their skills in the delivery of lessons and training sessions, may wish to pursue the first of these options by seeking enrolment in one or both of the courses EDSE11001 and EDSE20007 which are offered within other course programs within the Faculty. Several other courses within the BEd (Professional) course also provide relevant teaching and learning knowledge and experiences, such as EDED12325 , and EDED11350 .
