EDED14285 Supervision of Professional Practice
Supervision is an integral part of the development
of a professional practitioner. It involves interaction between
the supervisor and supervisee in an environment where the supervisor
is a supportive colleague and critical friend rather than an assessor.
In this sense, supervision involves two practitioners working together
so that both become more professionally effective. This course provides
knowledge and ideas for professional practitioners to improve the
quality of their supervision. Students will be required to take
on a supervisory role of working with a colleague to improve some
aspect of her or his practice and examining their role as a supervisor
in the process.
