EDCU11001  Curriculum Enquiry

Students are introduced to a comprehensive conceptual analysis of approaches to curriculum development and to curriculum operations. Action research is studied as one approach to systematic curriculum change. The diversity and interrelatedness of the factors influencing curriculum decisions are emphasised. Students are expected to enhance their abilities both in understanding and analysing curriculum controversies, and in planning, implementing and evaluating curriculum innovation. Comparative contemporary curriculum material at the levels of policy, program and activity is used extensively. Early childhood students are provided with specific curriculum models and frameworks relevant to a range of early childhood settings.
