Handbook Terminology:

Accreditation

There are multiple definitions for this term:

1. This denotes whether the program leads to recognition or accreditation by registered industry bodies. Accreditation to the body named is dependent upon successful graduation from the suggested programs, and in many instances graduates must complete further training for full accreditation. Contact the relevant program advisor for further information. (Student Handbook)

2. An evaluation of whether an institution qualifies for a certain status; or the actual conferring of that status. In the latter sense, it is the same as quality approval. The status may have implications for the institution itself and/or its students and/or graduates. (Quality Office)
