Handbook Terminology:

Attendance mode

A definition of the mode in which a student is undertaking attendance in a program.

Internal mode of attendance (On-campus)

All courses for which the student is enrolled are undertaken through attendance at the University on a regular basis OR where the student is undertaking a higher degree program for which regular attendance is not required, but attends the University on an agreed schedule for the purposes of supervision and/or instruction.

External mode of attendance (Off-campus)
All courses for which the student is enrolled involve special arrangements whereby lesson materials, assignments, etc are delivered to the student, and any associated attendance at the institution is of an incidental, irregular, special or voluntary nature.

Multi-modal mode of attendance
At lease one course is undertaken on an internal mode of attendance and at least one course is undertaken on an external mode of attendance.

Note: For the purposes of offering into a program, students may only be made offers in the internal or external mode. Students offered into a program internally, are permitted to undertake the program in a multi-modal mode of attendance. Students offered into a program externally are only permitted to undertake the program in an external mode of attendance. This is due to PeopleSoft restrictions on the system.
