Handbook Terminology:

Scholarship

An award carrying financial advantage in undertaking a specified program or course of study. The advantage is usually in the form of a full or partial remission of fees, or meeting of costs associated with the program or course of study such as living costs, purchases of books or accommodation. Such scholarships are normally awarded on the basis of past academic performance.
