Program outline

This program prepares graduates for a career in Tourism, which involves transportation, accommodation, food and beverages, entertainment, attractions and any private business or government body which in some way has an impact on these activities.

Career options

Among the careers which are predicted to experience growth are those of professional conference and convention organiser, human resources manager, front office manager, financial manager and controller, events manager, publicist and media manager, and tour guide especially for those with a second language

Plans

A plan is defined as 6 courses in a specialist area and must include at least 4 advanced level courses. A Plan may be chosen from the specialist areas offered by the Faculty of Business & Law. The courses available under these plans are listed on the Plans for Business Programs page (http://handbook.cqu.edu.au/pages/ugprg_pfpb.html). Alternatively, a plan may be chosen from an undergraduate degree program within Information Systems, Multimedia Studies or Communication.

A recommended study schedule for this program can be obtained from your program advisor. Students may determine their own schedule based upon credit transfers and personal study requirements. It is important to note that full-time students usually enrol in four courses per term and part-time students usually enrol in two courses per term.
