Program outline
The Bachelor of Aviation Technology offers students the opportunity to undertake a range of careers in the aviation aerospace and IT industries. The Bachelor of Aviation Technology program is designed to provide students with a knowledge and understanding of:
- theories and practices appropriate for the aviation industry;
- theories and practices appropriate for the information technology industry;
- the professional ethical, legal, and security issues in both industries;
and the skills to:
- work in the aviation industry;
- work in a range of operational and management positions within the aviation, aerospace and information technology industries;
- analyse problems critically and design appropriate solutions.
Career options
information technology professional, business manager, and a range of non-flying positions within the aviation/aerospace industry. If you choose the practical component you will be qualified as a commercial pilot
Note: The practical flight training is not part of, or a requirement of, the program.
Program structure
To obtain a Bachelor of Aviation Technology, a student must complete a total of 144 points (equivalent to 24 6 units of credit courses) as follows:
- A. Five courses (54 units of credit) in aviation theory;
- B. Eleven courses (66 units of credit) in information technology; and
- C. Four courses (24 units of credit) in business management.
Additionally, students entering the program without Year 11 Physics (or equivalent) will be required to undertake the IntroPhysics bridging course during their first term of study.
