The Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood Studies) program focuses on education issues for children between 0-8 years of age in a range of early childhood settings. The program also includes studies in the key learning areas needed to teach all levels of primary school. Students will undertake practicums in primary, preschool/kindergarten and day care settings. Graduates are qualified to take up positions as directors of day care centres, teachers and directors of kindergartens, teachers and teachers-in-charge in preschools and teachers in primary schools.
Students are advised to undertake the course schedule in the sequence as listed in the program structure. Individual variations from this may be approved by prior negotiation with the course coordinator. The equivalent of 16 weeks supervised fieldwork is required.
