The aim of this course is to introduce and provide opportunities for teachers to develop their teaching competencies in Health and Physical Education. Specifically students will: further develop their understanding of children's growth and development; examine the content of the Queensland Health and Physical Education Curriculum; develop their understanding of planning and organisational considerations; study methods and resources used in syllabus implementation; and investigate assessment and evaluation procedures appropriate to Health and Physical Education. In addition, students have the opportunity to examine contemporary developments in Health and Physical Education and a number of alternative approaches to teaching and learning.
