CU79 - Bachelor of Learning Management (Primary Education)

Program Structure

It is recommended that students commencing in the BLM (Primary Education) program undertake their studies over a minimum four year period as outlined below.  Students commencing the program in Term 2 will be required to follow a different study plan to that shown below.  Program planners can be accessed from the following link:

4 year option

* Students who have completed EDED11402 e.Learning Manager should not complete FAHE11001 Managing E-Learning.

Year 4

Students must complete 4 of the following education elective courses over the duration of their program.  These courses are offered in Term 3 in alternate years.  Students should therefore complete two electives in Term 3 over two subsequent years.  Availability of these electives may vary across campuses.

  • EDED11452 Visual Learning and Innovation
  • EDEC11021 Play Based Learning
  • EDEC11024 The Contemporary Child
  • EDED12335 Teaching and Coaching Games and Sports (available in distance mode only) *
  • EDED11442 Designing for Optimal Outcomes in Education
  • EDEC12027 Challenges in Early Childhood
  • EDED11331 Motor Development and Skill Acquisition
  • EDEC11020 Images of Childhood

 * Students wishing to undertake EDED12335 Teaching and Coaching Games and Sports must attend a compulsory residential school.  Please refer to the Residential School section of the handbook for further information.

 

Students undertaking EDFE13027 Embedded Professional Learning 5 - Internship.  As part of accreditation with the Queensland College of Teachers, students are required to pass all coursework, except FAHE13001 Professional Skills, before undertaking their final placement, EDFE13027 Embedded Professional Learning 5 - Internship.

3 year option (fast track)

This option is only available to students who have demonstrated, and continue to demonstrate high achievement in their studies.  Students are required to seek permission from the Head of Program or Program Advisor before commencing the 'fast-track' program structure.
