Course details
The teaching of Mathematics at the primary levels requires a broad knowledge and understanding of mathematical content, curriculum documents and how children learn. Teachers use the relevant Mathematics curriculum documents to plan, teach and assess learners. This course provides the content and professional knowledge necessary to teach Mathematics from Foundation to Year 9. There is strong theory, research and practical focus in the course. The sequence for developing understanding of mathematical concepts is scrutinised and brought to life through concrete hands-on activities applicable to classroom teaching.
