STAT11048 Essential Statistics
Course Description
This course introduces students to the concepts and applications of probability and statistical modelling involving questions of estimation, inference, regression and correlation. Topics include descriptive statistics, measures of central tendency and dispersion, binomial, Poisson and normal distributions, confidence intervals, hypothesis testing, quality control, Chi-square tests, linear regression and correlation. Issues in quality and quality control are introduced.
