NURS13089 Transition to Professional Practice
Course Description
In this course students will particapte in learning activities related to the development of time management skills, clinical decision making, scope of practice issues, the role of the multidisciplinary team and nurses' role within this team, coping techniques needed by the registered nurse working rotating shifts in busy clinical settings, the leadership role of the registered nurse in the health care setting, nursing assignment systems, conflict management, workplace health and safety, workplace relations, unions and professional nursing organisations. The use of technology to support nursing practice and nursing decisions will also be examined. A minimum of 12 days of clinical practice must be completed as part of this course.
