Course Description

This course builds on the skills and concepts introduced in MMST12004 Multimedia Design. Continue your investigation into the creative and cultural significance of multimedia by exploring the relationships between 'new' and 'old' media forms, and the relationships between technology and society. Expand your knowledge of Macromedia Director with advanced multimedia development techniques. Learn the fundamentals of programming in Lingo, Director's powerful scripting language. Move on to script design, coding, debugging, navigation, user interaction, sprite control, code optimisation and media synchronisation. Discover how to deliver your Director content online with Macromedia Shockwave player. NOTE: Access to a computer with an Internet connection, audio capabilities and a CD-RW drive is a requirement for this course. Students who completed MMST12004 Multimedia Design prior to Autumn 2001 should consult their Program Administrator.
