LOTE11003 Effective Communication in a Second Language
Course Description
This course aims to encourage LOTE development and proficiency through content-based learning. Students are to be encouraged to take as much responsibility for their own LOTE learning as possible so that learning becomes increasingly self-directed and less passive. The course is taught through specialised immersion techniques and incorporates the four skill areas of writing, reading, listening and speaking. Second language learning through immersion education is seen to promote increased levels of acquisition and facilitate higher proficiency levels than traditional approaches to language teaching.
