HRMT19015 Research for Human Resource Decision Making
Course Description
One of the main objectives of this course is to introduce the research process as an accurate framework for decision-making in the Human Resources Management discipline. The course also assists students in developing critical analysis skills to enhance their learning experiences throughout their current any future study programs. All the major elements of the research process will be covered including: problem identification; hypotheses development; writing the methodologies; analysis of data and, the writing of research reports. Emphasis will be placed on the evaluation of research proposals and reports, given that HR professionals need to be able to assess the reliability and validity of research study results before the decision-making process is completed. Stress will also be placed on honing the communication and working in teams skills required for effective transmission of research reporting. Students intending to enrol in HRMT19017 Project, may use the research proposal developed as part of the assessment in this course as the basis of their research project.
