HLTH20034 Decision Support in Health Care

Course Description

Students will examine the many facets associated with clinical practice and management in any health setting from an informatics perspective. This course aims to facilitate its graduates to make the best possible use of new and evolving information and communication technologies being introduced in the health sector. New information systems are expected to transform the way health services are delivered, documented, reported and researched. Clinicians need to be able to influence system development, evaluation and acquisition to ensure their contribution to health care is visible to all of Australia in a statistical sense. This course aims to facilitate learning the new technologies and how these can best be used by Clinicians to support their practice and improve outcomes for care recipients.
