GEOG19021 Geographic Information Systems and Remote Sensing
Course Description
This course will develop abilities to use maps, geographic information systems, and remote sensing imagery. Students will study the characteristics of maps, GIS, and air photos and satellite images, and will be able to state the uses and limitations of such devices. Basic abilities will be developed to use such systems and to produce elementary maps and GIS layers, and to interpret remote sensing information. Stress will be placed on appreciating the practical utility of maps, GIS and remote sensing for research and problem solving.
