The hydrology component ncludes such issues as the hydrological cycle, measurement of rainfall and run-off, making predictions and estimating risks based on meteorological and hydrological data, and principles underlying construction of control systems such as retention ponds. Physical and chemical aspects will include study of the interactions between light and the aquatic environment, and stratification and mixing processes in relation to dissolved gases and nutrients.
