ENEM13007 Energy Conversion
Course Description
This course studies contemporary energy conversion devices and the practical limitations imposed on these with present technology. Topics covered include: rates of heat transfer and the design heat exchangers, the theoretical performance of compressors, the theoretical performance of complex gas turbine cycles with modifications, combustion processes, the performance of internal combustion engines, methods of determining power and efficiency of steam turbines from velocity diagrams and h/s diagrams, problems associated with nuclear energy.
