ENEC14012 Water Engineering

Course Description

This course provides students with a basic understanding of two fields of hydraulic engineering: water supply and wastewater engineering; and coastal engineering. The course is intended to cover fundamental knowledge in these two fields for design and practical application purpose. Water supply and wastewater engineering are concerned with water and wastewater characteristics and quantity, water and wastewater treatment processes, water distribution and wastewater collection systems, and systems of waste disposals. Coastal engineering is concerned with linear theory, wave processes, wave forecasting and wave forces on structures, sedimentation processes, coastal changes and shore protection methodology.
