Course Description

The course explores a range of views of the management of an organisation. The objective is to gain an understanding of the holistic nature of an organisation within which various, highly interrelated, aspects of management are practised. The systems approach is applied in an environment defined by the needs and requirements of custimers, special interest groups (such as unions and employer groups; industry, consumer and environmental groups) and governments as expressed mainly through legislation. The course covers: Systems Thinking/Systematic Management Frameworks; Legal Frameworks; Strategic Management; Quality Management; Safety Management; Environmental Management; Industrial Relations; Financial Management; Inventory Management.
