EDVT12015 Adult Literacy and Numeracy at Work
Course Description
The course seeks to provide an introduction to issues in Adult literacy and numeracy. There are three modules: 1. Issues in adult literacy and numeracy, 2. Planning for learning and teaching in Adult Literacy and Numeracy, and 3. The National Framework and competencies issues. The first module provides both introductory readings and raises some of the contentious issues especially related to the political context of Adult basic education. The second module involves the student in identifying learners needs, planning appropriate curriculum and then assessing learning outcomes. The third module would deal with the National framework in Adult Basic education and assessment in adult literacy in the light of competency based issues.
