EDED11399 Professional Knowledge And Practice
Course Description
In this course students build understanding about learning as a process and the interdependence of transmission and reception in learning. Key teaching and learning theories covered in this course include Ausubel and Gagne. Students will also identify the main philosophical tenets of theories about learning and teaching. The aim is to place such theories into their social and historical context and to evaluate their usefulness in the Information Society. Finally, students will investigate the individual and social resources that learners, families, learning managers, communities, organisations and school systems provide to support and hinder learning.
