Course Description
All students have needs-learning needs, psychological or emotional needs, physical needs and others. In addition, some students have special needs as a result of some type of disability. The manner in which teachers consider students' needs as part of their planning will influence both the type and amount of learning which takes place and the behaviour of students in the classroom. Therefore, this course focuses on identifying students' needs and devising strategies to meet those needs while simultaneously developing a supportive school environment. Skills of classroom management and organisation are considered within the current context of schooling which integrates students with special needs into the regular classroom.
