DRMA19013 Director's Theatre
Course Description
This course will provide students with the opportunity to explore the ways in which twentieth century directors have changed the way directing is theorized and practiced, and drama is performed. Students will be expected to familiarize themselves both with the role of the director and the skills they utilize, and the work of particular directors and the influence they have had. They will develop an understanding of the major aesthetic and conceptual frameworks within which directors work. Students will be expected to engage in a creative, risk-taking and problem-solving exercise that reflects the practice of the modern director.
