Course Description
This course covers the fundamentals of construction management including developing an understanding of the construction management industry in the Australian economy and society and an analysis of the type and nature of contracting organisations.
Procurement Processess and Methods: Understanding of how tendering methods impact on start-up operations and project structure. How work is procured. Role of Estimating in procurement. Management structures for construction team and sub-contractors including communications and coordination, material and plant management and control, and document contract.
Resource analysis including: Resource requirements, productivity estimates, performance monitoring, responsibility schedules, resource usage reports, material requirements, material order lists. Romote area contracting. Hand-over, commissioning and management of defects liability period.
