Program Overview This program is suitable for those who already, or wish to, work in the building industry as building surveyors. The qualification entitles holders to register as a building surveyor. This is a second tier program. Substantial exemptions from courses (about 40 per cent) resulting in a reduced program duration, will be available to those who are holders of the first tier Advanced Diploma of Building Inspection. Prospective students are encouraged to talk to the Program Coordinator about exemptions from the program based on previous study or professional experience. The Faculty has established sets of exemptions for holders of TAFE qualifications. A normal part-time load is 12 units of credit per term. Students should note prerequisite requirements and course availability (in this Handbook) when constructing your program in liaison with program advisors. It is suggested that you study courses in order of level. However, you may choose to bring courses forward provided you have studied the necessary prerequisites and the courses are available.
