sustainable options.
- Develop an appreciation and recognition of the diversity
of models and options, relating to sustainable development.
- Train students to think systemically and holistically about
natural resource management and social and economic development.
- Cater for students from a variety of backgrounds, both
educational and professional, and with a wide range of interests.
Applicants should have previous tertiary level study, or five
years industry experience, or their equivalents.
Program Structure
This program consists of four courses of coursework. Students
must undertake two core courses - a compulsory course 'Theories
and Concepts of Sustainable Development', and one from
a choice of two of 'Models of Sustainable Development' or 'Thinking
Systemically and Sustainably'. Two courses are also to
be taken from any of the three streams (a choice, that is, of two courses
from a selection of 12). To provide a foundational basis, the two
core courses must be taken before, or concurrently with, others.
There is no residential school for any course.
