ECON20021 Economics of Regional Development
Regions, whether urban or rural, make up the
national economy. Regional development is a policy concern of governments
at federal, state and local levels. Regional economic development
theories and policies are critically examined and the determinants
of regional development are evaluated within an historical context.
The impact of globalisation and national competition policy on
regional development are examined as are the roles of government
and regional stakeholders in driving the regional development process.
