Graduate Diploma of Sustainable Development CU16

This program is designed to:
- Develop an understanding of the multiple meanings
of sustainability, and the concepts and theories employed in evaluating
sustainable options.
- Develop an appreciation and recognition of the diversity
of models and options, relating to sustainable development.
- Train students to think systemically and holistically about
natural resource management and social and economic development.
- Cater for students from a variety of backgrounds, both
educational and professional, and with a wide range of interests.
Applicants should have either:
- an undergraduate degree or its equivalent
- be eligible to graduate with a Graduate Certificate in
Sustainable Development
- Applicants who do not have tertiary qualification may
enter the program through the Graduate Certificate in Sustainable
Development.
Program Structure
This program consists of six courses of coursework. Students
must undertake three core courses and are then required to take
two courses from one of the three streams, and one elective - which
can come from any of the streams. Each stream consists of four courses. To
provide a foundational basis, the three core courses must be taken
before, or concurrently with, others. There is no residential school
for any course.
