Note:
- Courses marked (*) have compulsory residential school. See the residential school timetable for details. Compulsory residential schools are held in Rockhampton and are conducted for these courses taken by external students.
- Students who wish to undertake a Rehabilitation Coordinator role in Queensland there is an opportunity to take the Queensland Competency (Q-Comp) exam within OCHS13011 (Queensland legislation and technical application). Successful completion of the exam allows students to apply for a Q-Comp Workplace Rehabilitation Coordinator Certificate. Please see the course profile for more information.
Second Plans
These second plans have been selected to provide students with guidance in selecting a group of subjects that may assist in their career progression. These second plans are approved, but they are optional. If a suitable combination of subjects is not available, please contact the Student Contact Centre on 13 27 86 to get your Program Advisor to contact you.
A combination of courses other than these approved second plans specified below will not show as a specialisation on your degree.

Second Plan description: Environmental Health Officers develop, regulate, enforce and monitor laws and regulations governing public health, building and environmental management, in order to promote good health, hygiene and environmental practices. Environmental health professionals are also employed in private industry, the military, academia, research & development and as consultants.
Management
Second Plan description: Provides students with an interest in the management side of their studies, who will be better served in their careers by acquiring an understanding of a wide range of business areas and operations. It gives you the opportunity to obtain broad-based skills in a business environment. It will help equip you with a sound skills base regarding business operations within Australia and overseas and lead to careers in management, marketing, human resource management and operations management.

Engineering Technology Management
Second Plan description: Provides students with skills and knowledge to work with engineers, technologists and business managers in an enormous range of industries and organisations in both government and private industry - Business manager level. It helps equip you to apply knowledge and skills in analysis, scientific, technological and management principles and to exhibit management skills and social responsibility to existing and new technology and business areas. BOHS students who may be interested in working in an engineering, applied technology or related area would find the study of the this co-plan beneficial, with its introduction to technical and socio-technical issues and the management and application of technology in an engineering workplace.

Second Plan description: Provides students with skills and knowledge to prepare graduates to fulfil a crucial role in the community in health promotion and education.
