MRKT19034 Entrepreneurship, Innovation and New Ventures

Course details

Starting, developing and operating a new business involves considerable risk and effort. New ventures continue to proliferate in local, national and global markets. Nearly two million new ventures are created each year despite high failure rates. However, an entrepreneur who seeks the right training and support can greatly reduce their risk of failure. This course explores the roles and functions of entrepreneurship and innovation in the development of new business ventures, specifically focusing on small to medium enterprise (SME) perspectives. We investigate the development and application of creativity and innovation, options for going into business and the key elements of a business plan including marketing, operations, financial projections and implementation. This course is essential for students who are planning to pursue an entrepreneurial career and/or corporate intrapreneurs who wish to develop their entrepreneurial marketing and management capabilities.
