Career Opportunities

Graduates have the expertise to enter a wide range of biomedically relevant employment fields. Employment opportunities exist in industrial science, the pharmaceutical and biotechnological industries, hospitals, biomedical research, the food industry, microbiological and medical diagnostics, agricultural industries, life sciences instrumentation industries, forensic science and government authorities. Graduates may also progress to further postgraduate study, which includes honours and research higher degrees in Biomedical Science, or to medicine via GAMSAT.

About Biomedical Science

Biomedical Science is the study of the causes, diagnosis & treatment of human diseases, representing one of the most important areas of applied science. Students who choose this program will study biological aspects of medical science and explore concepts associated with areas of biochemical, biological, veterinary, Para-medical and other related sciences.

Students are introduced to biomedical and chemical science concepts and principles, with further study in areas such as microbiology, biochemistry, molecular biology and biotechnology, analytical science, pharmacology and toxicology.
