EDED13432 Leadership & Culture in Independent Schools

Course details

This course focuses on the leadership and school culture governance and ethos differences of schools in the Independent sector. The Independent Schools Council of Australia and its affiliates are overviewed. The role and function of School Boards and the role and responsibilities of Independent School Principals are profiled and compared. Concepts of ‘Parental Choice’, religious affiliation, performance management of staff, extra-curricular activities and the pursuit of academic and personal excellence are clarified. The course culminates in an Expression of Interest for employment in an Independent School.
