THTR12120 Voice and Speech 2

Course details

An invigorated process of deeper textual understanding leading to informed choices in performance of text is the primary aim of this course. A continuation of the principles begun in Voice and Speech 1, this course explores the rich world of dramatic text, literature and lyric. Students will study and should respond to physiognomy of language, structure, subtext, poetic stress and metre, and the vast meaning often missing from 'presentational performance'. Students should expand their own literary experience with suggested readings.
