Course details

Students read and respond to a range of western dramatic literature from the ancient Greeks to the late 20th Century. Particular emphasis is given to the analysis of texts from the point of view of contemporary interpretation. Relationship to historical context provides the basis for critical enquiry and re-evaluation of modern attitudes to performance.
