Course details

This course is a systematic progression of the ideas and expressive practicum commenced in Principal Studios 1. Students should build upon previously attained skills incorporating both formal and situated learning elements in the realisation of the Art of Musical Theatre. Singing: extends the technical foundation through further developing range and tonal quality. Acting: continues the building of an acting technique through synthesis of the various aspects of an actor¿s craft-voice, text, movement and characterisation in the performance of contemporary scenes and monologues. Dance: a continuation of classes in technique covering the dance forms most used in musical theatre performance. A correspondingly higher level of skill in enchainments, flexibility, style, rhythm and presentation is expected.
