MUSC11403 Fundamentals of Sonic Arts and Sound Design

Course details

This course introduces students to the historical development and current scope of sonic art and provides a starting point for anyone who has an interest in the creative uses of sound. The student should develop knowledge of new and radical approaches to sound recording, performance, installation works and exhibitions through a critical analysis of sonic works of contemporary artists. The course also provides students with foundation studies of audio recording, software applications for sound manipulation, sound sculpture, sound diffusion, exhibiting Sonic Art and interactivity.
