ENAE12008 Electrical Power Systems Modelling

Course details

This course provides students with knowledge and skills required to model and operate electrical power systems safely and efficiently. Students explain the functioning and modelling of power systems and components, analyse three phase power system operation, and analyse transmission line performance. They model and analyse operational networks involving transmission lines, loads, transformers and rotating machines. They perform load flow studies and fault analysis. Students are required to show that they can effectively communicate power systems concepts, professionally document problem and design solutions, and work productively and professionally, both individually and in groups
A compulsory residential school is provided to promote development of course learning outcomes.
