HRMT20022 HRM in the Global Environment

Course details

The entire HR field has experienced tremendous change in the past decade. The global economy affects us all, no matter the size of the organisation. HR professionals need to recognise that globalisation is the defining political and economic force in the world today, requiring new ways of thinking and responding. This course focuses on skills development and mastery of the necessary knowledge to be successful in the worldwide marketplace. The course examines the various external business and cultural influences and environments in the Asia Pacific region to demonstrate the differing human resources policies and practices in those economies. This is extended to show how the economic underpinning of these labour markets, and the HR responses to the national labour markets have been institutionalised. STUDENTS WHO HAVE COMPLETED EITHER HRMT20006 HRM IN THE ASIA PACIFIC or HRMT20021 GLOBAL HRM CANNOT TAKE THIS COURSE.
