ENEV21005 Water Resources Planning & Management

Course details

On completion of this course students should understand the global water cycle and the importance of appropriate management of our finite resources of fresh water. Students should be able to use the systems approach and apply it to the planning and management of water resources. Students should be able to apply the techniques for economic, environmental and social assessment of water resources projects and understand the factors that affect the urban and agricultural demand for water and develop models to forecast future demands of water. Students should be able to determine environmental flows and reservoir yield and reliability, assess groundwater resources and assess the impacts of climate change and variability on water sources.
