Course details

The visual image has emerged as a powerful media form, shaping how we see and think about the world around us. This course examines visual culture as a way of seeing and experiencing contemporary life through visual images. We look at film, advertising, popular art, video, photography and the digital image. These various ways of seeing are examined in the context of modern and postmodern theories of culture.
