Course details
This course examines the historical, political and normative contexts of social policy with reference to broad policy areas, such as employment, welfare and social security, Indigenous issues, aged care, family and child protection and youth. Skills required in policy analysis are discussed and applied in project-based work which links conceptual frameworks for social policy analysis with practice issues in human services. Lastly, this course enables students to develop skills required for developing and implementing micropolicy and operational procedures for government and nongovernmental agencies and programs delivering human services within urban, regional, rural and international contexts.
